The Lonely Sparrow

IMG_20150608_121421

“Beyond all sight from our world
She flies as high as winds are curled.
Then down to earth she’ll not sway,
That sparrow she so far away.

How good and happy it must be
Above the earth and ‘bove the sea.
Over the person and beast way,
That sparrow she so far away.

She passes night unto the owls,
The hooting birds and hellish howls.
Still she holds the sky by day,
That sparrow she so far away.

But up and beyond the sky, she fades
Beyond my eye can see. She shades.
Against the sky, she is gone fray
That sparrow she so far away.

Twisting, turning, spinning, thrust
She flaps away from earthen dust.
She’ll come to me some foreign day,
That sparrow she so far away.” – Kester Rose
